Kururu is the brain of Keroro's platoon. A genius alien with not-so-nice behaviour which makes his comrades adore him and hate him at the same rate. At first, before reuniting with the platoon, Kururu planned to defeat Mutsumi as his first step in order to invade the Earth. However, he ended up being saved by Mutsumi and gave one of his inventions, magic pen which can bring everything drawn by it to life, to Mutsumi. Then Mutsumi helped him to find his comrades in Earth. That's how they become partners.

Although he doesn't seem like it, Keroro is the leader of Keroro Platoon which was sent to Earth in their mission to invade the Earth. Keroro loves to play and collect Ganpura (Gundam plastic model), and they occassionally met in Ganpura-related events or stores. Both Keroro and Mutsumi usually target the same item (the newest and rarest), and most of times, Mutsumi wins in getting them. This makes Keroro look to Mutsumi as his Ganpura-collecting rival. However, Mutsumi was also the one, aside from Fuyuki, who saved the sergeant from disappearing when the Kero Ball accidentally made hundreds of Keroro's duplicates.

The only son in Hinata family, obsessed with anything related with occult and supernatural. In the manga, Fuyuki first met Mutsumi while coincidentally taking a walk with his secret (?) admirer, Nishizawa Momoka. He felt his heart beating faster that time, probably caused by the "electric waves" Mutsumi sent while looking for Kururu's comrades. Upon realizing this reaction, Mutsumi stalked secretly followed him until the two were left alone. He guessed that Fuyuki had been keeping a big secret (aka keeping one or more alien inside his house). Fuyuki suspected him as an agent from Black Man, an Earthian organization which hides the evidences of aliens' existence by killing every respective persons.

Although she sees Mutsumi as a senior who skips classes a lot, Natsumi admires Mutsumi so much, and listens to his radio show every week, and gets mad when Keroro and friends annoy her at times. She also likes to quote Mutsumi's poems/paintings. Mutsumi acts nice to her, but there is no sign of him returning her affection. It seems that Mutsumi only sees her as "a junior who also has an alien", or "the girl whose house becomes the secret base of Keroro Platoon".

giroro gochou

Due to his hot-boiling love for Natsumi, and the respective girl's admiration towards the senpai, Giroro considers Mutsumi as the most dangerous and worrisome thing in his lovelife. However, Mutsumi doesn't seem to be bothered by (or even noticed) this.
