Ouran Koukou Host Club is originally a shoujo manga by Hatori Bisco. It started being serialized in LaLa Magazine on August 5, 2003. It is adapted into a 26-episode anime television series produced by BONES, which premiered on April 4, 2006 in Japan.

The story itself begins when Fujioka Haruhi, a scholarship student from a commoner family who got into Ouran Highschool, which is a school for wealthy people. She accidentally stumbled upon an unused music room, which is actually the Host Club's base, and broke a vase worths ¥8,000,000. To pay her debt, she is employed in the Host Club.
